St. Ignatius’ convent higher secondary school, Palayamkottai, Trinelveli, Tamilnadu. Began in 1921by ICM sisters, with 3 students. Though it was a humble beginning , growth is enormous, now it has crossed 4000 girls from 6th to 12 th class. With the motto” Virtue is the strongest shield”, it shines as beacon light emitting the beams of love, truth, equality and fraternity. It is a Landmark in the city. It was a divine inspiration and timely to begin to educate girls. It is really a transformative service over the years. This is evident by the alumni of this school who outshine in every domain of the society, as they are academically sound, morally upright and socially committed. As Ignatius is marching forward with the charism “passion for God and compassion for people”, 104th year, may it continue to shine for others.
