School, Palayamkottai, the National Service Scheme (NSS) stands as a pillar of character formation and social responsibility.Through NSS, students are encouraged to dedicate their time, skills, and energy to serve society, fostering the Ignatian values of empathy, teamwork, and leadership.

Our NSS unit is a vibrant platform where young Ignatians learn that true education lies in service to others.

Objectives of NSS at St. Ignatius

  • To develop a sense of social and civic responsibility among students.
  • To encourage participation in community development and public welfare activities.
  • To build confidence, discipline, and leadership through real-world service experiences.
  • To promote national integration and unity through teamwork and mutual respect.

Activities and Initiatives

The NSS volunteers at our school actively participate in a range of service and awareness programs throughout the year, including:

  • Community Welfare Drives: Cleanliness campaigns, village visits, and tree plantation drives that promote sustainable living.
  • Health & Hygiene Awareness: Organizing medical camps, sanitation drives, and health education programs.
  • Social Outreach Programs: Visiting orphanages, old age homes, and special schools to extend care and support.
  • Environmental Campaigns: Conducting “Go Green” initiatives, waste management awareness, and eco-friendly projects.
  • National & State Events: Observing NSS Day, Independence Day, and Republic Day with service-oriented activities.
